Hey everyone. My name is Abraham Martinez. I recently finished background painting duties at Titmouse inc. for a show called Motorcity. It was so much fun working with so many creative and talented peeps. What a great experience! The BG’s posted up top are of the Burner’s hangout called Jacob’s Place. I was lucky enough to get to bring the fun on these amazing layouts with the direction of Chris Prynoski and Antonio Canobbio. That painting at top right is what Jacob’s almost looked like. Cool but it still wasn’t right. It needed “More fresh styles!!” So After a couple tweaks, a great call on a color shift and some more awesome MC graffiti, the painting on top left is what you see on the show. Cool story bro!
Major credit goes to the layout artists on the show: Brandon Cuellar, Roger Oda, Khang Le, Kirk Shinmoto, Angela Sung, Connie Wong, Arthur Loftis, Tim Ridley and Tec Manalac.

Episodic Order in Motorcity, Or Why You Should Just Let A Good Thing Be
Why, exactly, would Disney XD choose to air Motorcity out of order? It’s a practice that often ends in disaster (e.g. Firefly, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes), and hardly ever endears fans to the network (oh Fox, we are never forgiving you). While it’s true that Motorcity isn’t serialized, there are some solid examples where airing the episodes in order would have made lots more sense.
I wanted to take an in-depth look at how the episodes actually aired versus how they were intended to air by the show’s creators and the subsequent results. (Note: Major spoilers for ‘Fearless’ and minor spoilers for ‘Reunion’ ahead, neither of which have been aired on television)
Why there hasnt been a photo set of this car is just SAD. The Blond Thunder is such a sexy ass car, not to mention it reminds me of megas XLR

This is the last post about Dutch’s flashback sequence. First image is when Mike introduced rest of the burners to dutch for the first time. I drew tiny burners with mini cars. :) Drawing them mini size was so fun, especially their cars. haha. Then Mike handing dutch a burner logo, and him putting the logo on him. Last image is group shot of burners. I also included some of the screen shots from the episode. Some of my drawings were used in backgrounds and laser eyed dragon crane. Nice<3! It was incredible opportunity to work on something so non character design job and they used my actual drawings in the final product!! how awesome is that? Even It took me way longer to draw/paint the sequence than 10 seconds animation, It was such a fun project to work on, it was totally worth it! Also, thank you so much for your interest and nice comments. I read them each one and it makes me very happy. :)

My favorite alternate attire in the show is Kane’s laserball getup. If we ever make action figures, this is what I want. A great design by Joanna (drawb4ueat). I usually cringe at grown men with hairy chests in v-necks and skinny jeans, but this change of clothes for Kane is perfect.

We had the day off from work here to celebrate the birthing of ‘Merika so I figured I would get started on my Motorcity promo poster thing a little early. For once! Even tried something a little different and more rough. Hope you enjoy it.

I also just found out that in addition to Itunes… you can also download new episodes from the sony online store after midnight the night they air. They are beautiful HD copies and only cost $2.99. That’s how I’ve been watching it off of my PS3. Just figured some of you might not be aware of that pretty awesome alternate viewing option.
